I've had this
poster up everywhere I've been (hence the wear and tear) cause
I like the MAN! I spell it, "Mmmm..MAAANNNN!"
Well, you get
the picture.
Saiichi (see
"bio") came up with a Muddy Waters song I had never
heard which went straight in when we played it: "The Letter."
What a knockout of a boogieing song it is! It has a snappy break
in it that gives the drummer the opportunity to do the most syncopated
fill I've ever played in a blues song. And it's a real rocker
in the bargain.
"I...got
a letter.......just the other day......my baaaaaby's comin' home
she said....." Oooohh, I love it!
"And I
feel so good......I feel so GOOOD!" and on it goes. What
a pelting song it is. You can't sit still while it's being played.
We only rehearsed
the song twice, then played it the next night as an encore at
the Half Moon in Putney, and the audience wouldn't let us off
the stage. So....we played it again!! They loved listening to
it as much as we loved playing it.
I looooove
Muddy Waters. So this poster has a lot of miles and smiles in
it.
Except for
the funky top, it's in perfect condition, oddly enough.
