One of Stanley
Mouse's more memorable early images. This poster was on Funky
Sam's bedroom door.
Marijuana and
LSD were very popular...you could get them anywhere. The "counter
culture" used these drugs as straight society uses alcohol,
and any symbols regarding these drugs were always popular...cocking
a snoot at the establishment. Zig-Zag was a French company that
made cigarette rolling papers, which became the vehicle for making
marijuana joints, and so this poster was a wink at the law and
an inside joke to those in the groove (man).
'Hard to believe,
but this was exciting stuff then...America was so incredibly rigid
and straight, you had to have been there to marvel at how trussed
up society was....goody two-shoes everywhere you looked.
This wonderful,
very rare and important poster has staple holes in the corners,
but is otherwise perfect.
